In November, 2014 Riga Shipyard started rather unusual shipbuilding project. The client, Norwegian company, requested a custom-built hull for underwater fauna research in the North Sea as well as Baltic Sea. These researches will be carried out by the Danish Technical University students, who will be assigned to the vessel. Such request will be executed for the first time in Riga Shipyard’s history.
Hull is quite small in size – 17,24 meters long and 5.8 meters wide. Name of the vessel will be HAVFISKE directly translated from the Danish language means saltwater fish. The hull is planned for commissioning in late June.
